The Truth I Couldn’t Ignore
Over the past few years, I’ve noticed something I can’t ignore.
Too many brilliant, capable women in their forties and fifties are quietly shrinking. They’re second-guessing themselves, dimming their light, and convincing themselves that their best years are behind them.
They tell me things like, “It’s too late for me now,” or “I missed my moment.”And it breaks my heart every single time. Because I know how untrue that is.
That’s why I wrote my new book.
For the woman who’s questioning whether she still has it in her. For the woman who’s lost her spark but not her potential. For the woman who knows she’s meant for more, but self-doubt and imposter syndrome keep pulling her back.
Join Me on the Journey

This book is for her.
When I Realised Something Had to Change
It started during coaching sessions, coffee chats, and late-night messages from clients who were feeling stuck. I’d hear the same story over and over again — women who’d built incredible lives, raised families, led teams, or launched businesses, but deep down they felt invisible.
They were tired of pretending to have it all together, of living to everyone else’s expectations with the little voice that seems to always be there whispering, “Who do you think you are?”
And if I’m honest, I recognised that voice too. I’ve heard it myself, on repeat, more times than I can count.
We talk a lot about empowering women, but not enough about what it actually looks like to rebuild confidence from the inside out — especially in midlife. I wanted to write something that didn’t just talk about confidence, but showed women how to find it again. I wanted it to be a resource that you could go back to time and time again in the moments when your confidence takes a hit.
The Real Story Behind Confidence
I don’t believe that confidence is lost because you have suddenly hit 40! It’s eroded slowly, by burnout, other people’s opinions, and years of being the strong one who holds everything together.
We carry so much for everyone else that we forget who we are underneath all the roles. The mother. The leader. The partner. The one who gets things done.
Then one day, something shifts. Maybe it’s a career change, a health scare, a loss, or just a quiet realisation that you’ve spent years waiting for permission to start living on your own terms and that’s the point where so many women stop.
But I’m here to tell you that it’s also an amazing opportunity for you to course correct, get your shit together and decide to do life differently.
If I’m being completely honest with you, I know that my own journey through imposter syndrome and rebuilding my confidence wasn’t neat or pretty. It was messy, painful, and full of moments where I questioned if I was good enough to do what I’m doing now. But through that process, I found tools and truths that changed everything.
And that’s what I wanted to share.
Why This Book Had to Exist
This book isn’t about quick fixes or fluffy motivation.
It’s about the real, sometimes uncomfortable work of rediscovering who you are after years of putting yourself last.
It’s about stepping into confidence that isn’t performative — not the kind you wear like a mask — but the kind that comes from knowing your worth and owning your story.
I wanted to write something that midlife women could pick up and instantly feel seen. A book that says:
“You’re not behind. You’re not broken. You’re becoming.”
Because I’ve seen what happens when women remember who they are. When they stop waiting to feel ready and when they finally take up space and speak with their full voice.
Everything changes.
A Message to the Woman Who’s Reading This
If you’re reading this and wondering if it’s too late to start again — it’s not.
You’re right on time.
You are not too old to dream again, to rebuild, to pivot, to rewrite your story. I and so many of my clients are living, breathing proof of that!
In fact, this chapter of your life might be the one where you finally stop trying to prove yourself and start being yourself. (It’s fucking liberating)
You don’t need to feel confident before you start, because that rarely happens like that. Confidence is built in the doing. It grows every time you take a brave step, even when you’re shaking inside.
And that’s what my book is all about.
It’s for the women who’ve spent years doubting their brilliance, hiding behind their own potential.
It’s for every woman who knows there’s more waiting for her — and is finally ready to claim it.
I’ll be revealing more about the book in the new year, but for now, I want to invite you to come along on the journey with me.
Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes stories, confidence tools, and honest conversations about what it really takes to ditch imposter syndrome and start showing up as the woman you were always meant to be.
Join my mailing list to be the first to know when the book is released and get early access to a free confidence toolkit I’m creating to go with it.
Because it’s not too late to start again.
In fact, this might be YOUR perfect time.
Love,
Rachael x
