Exposing & Overcoming Your Fears When Creating Your Vision
In my last blog post, I spoke about walking into 2022 with a clear vision for what you want your life to look like going forward. I gave you a free download link to my Create & Cultivate Your Vision Workbook, in which, were some powerful exercises to help you get focussed and identify clear vision moving forward. If you haven’t read that post yet, you can find it here
Today I wanted to share with you something that often happens when you start the process of transformation. It’s something that happens to me, each and every time I sit down and create my vision for the new year.
FEAR.
Whilst I do encourage you to sit in a quiet place and light candles and make your space as comfortable as possible, this encourages your mind to relax and as a result your negative voice can become overwhelmingly loud! Let me just tell you this is completely normal and you can defeat it with some practice and self-help tools. Don’t worry I’ve got you!!!
When I talk about fear, I mean the niggly voice that says:
I’m not good enough
I will have to lose something to gain this thing that I desire
People are going to poke fun at me
I don’t know enough, or have the right training, knowledge etc
You get the gist! and straight away this can stop you in your tracks of being able to sit with your workbook and create your vision.
So, I wanted to help you out with this, in case it has been happening with you and you haven’t completed the workbook because your fears have stopped you in your tracks.
I want you to start over with the mindset of:
‘If my fears didn’t exist what would my vision be?’
This helps you to see through the bullshit (your fears) and focus completely on your vision and goals for the future.
Another great tip is to print this worksheet - click on image to download (no email required) and using the example below start brainstorming your fears and put them into the two categories.
Those that happen and Those requiring action
Then, I want you to sit with that for a moment and think about what is really going on? what are the real fears that are below those surface level fears and write those down under the
Below the surface fears.
And once you have done that I want you to think about are They really true?
This exercise is a powerful one and will help you to wade through the fears and put them into perspective. If we are to transform into the best version of ourselves, the most iconic version of ourselves, we cannot be paralysed by fear!
