How to Ditch Imposter Syndrome and Lead With Self-Worth in 2026

As I was thinking about what to say to you today, I found myself reflecting on self-worth and how often, as women, we still attach it to how we look, how much we’re earning, or how much we’re doing for everyone else.

We say things like “When I lose the weight” or “When I hit that number” or “When life finally slows down” — then I’ll feel confident. Then I’ll feel enough.

But let’s be honest, that moment never really comes, does it? Because no matter what we achieve, we still end up questioning it. We still second-guess ourselves before hitting post. We still compare our behind-the-scenes to everyone else’s highlight reel.

And I get it. Because even now, after years of coaching women through this exact thing, I still catch myself doing it too. It really has shown up for me more times than ever this year because I have been pushing myself more than ever in my life and business to reach my big goals.

Imposter syndrome is sneaky. It doesn’t always show up as panic or self-doubt. Sometimes it’s that quiet unease that creeps in when you’re about to share your story or celebrate your success. It’s that voice that says, “Tone it down. Don’t be too much.”

But let me tell you something. You are allowed to be too much for the wrong people. Because you’re just enough for the right ones.


You’ve earned your place – stop auditioning for it

Most of the women I work with in midlife have built entire worlds while still feeling like they’re not quite enough.

They’ve raised children, run homes, worked full-time jobs, started businesses, cared for parents, navigated loss, heartbreak, burnout, and everything in between. Yet they still sit in meetings or scroll social media and think, I should be doing more.

We’ve been trained to achieve our way to worthiness.
And it’s exhausting.

You’ve earned your place. You don’t need to prove your value through constant productivity, perfection, or people-pleasing. You can stop auditioning for the life you already have.

The next version of you doesn’t need more validation. She needs more belief.


Confidence isn’t arrogance – it’s alignment

Let’s clear this up once and for all: confidence isn’t arrogance. It’s alignment.

It’s knowing who you are and what you bring to the table, even on the days you feel a bit wobbly. It’s not about faking it or forcing it. It’s about remembering that your worth doesn’t increase when you earn more, weigh less, or get more followers.

You can’t outsource self-worth. It has to come from you.

For me, it’s been about shifting from “I hope they like me” to “I’m okay if they don’t.” That’s where peace lives.

Try it: next time you start to shrink yourself, remind yourself, I belong here. I’ve worked for this. I am allowed to take up space.


When comparison creeps in

Let’s talk about that scroll spiral.
You know the one — you’re lying in bed after a long day, you open Instagram, and suddenly you’re knee-deep in someone else’s success story, wondering if you’re doing enough.

But what you’re really doing is abandoning yourself in favour of someone else’s timeline.

Comparison steals clarity.

The truth is, you’re not behind. You’re becoming. You’re in the middle of the story that one day will make perfect sense. You’re growing roots, not just results.

So when you feel yourself slipping into comparison, stop. Breathe.
Remember who you are and what you’ve survived to be here.

You’re not late to the party. You’re right on time and exactly where you’re meant to be.


Leading with self-worth in 2026

2026 doesn’t need to be the year you “fix” yourself. It can be the year you finally back yourself.

The year you stop chasing validation and start choosing peace. The year you stop waiting for permission and start saying yes to the opportunities that make your stomach flip. The year you stop measuring your value by what you do and start owning who you are.

That’s what it looks like to lead with self-worth.

Not louder. Just truer.
